![]() ![]() The CHURCH at GUN HILL "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." II Timothy 3 vv 16,17 | |||||||||||||||||
The Church at Gun Hill is a Pentecostal Church in Bowers Gifford, Essex. The church was built in 1884 as a Congregational Church. Apparently, John Willsmer, the miller from nearby Pitsea, was one of the people responsible for the building of the church. Interesting pictures and information of that period can be found in at least two books published by local authors1. In the 1940s, the building was bought by the Elim Pentecostal Church and has maintained a witness to the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and to the Truth of God's Word, the Bible, through the years and into the 21st century. The church has its own full website, to which there is a link at the side of this page. This Bible Study website brings to you some of the important teachings, which have been given there over recent years. In addition to our Sunday services, we also meet on a Tuesday evening at 7.45pm for Bible Study. 1 "Basildon - A Pictorial History" by Jessie K Payne 1981 Publ.Phillimore & Co.
